The practice

Maria Fenton is not simply a fashion designer. She is a master tailor and multidisciplinary artist making bespoke wearable art for women who want to be seen, understood, and beautifully represented.

Crafted for you. Worn as art. Made to last.
The work

Four disciplines, one hand.

Every piece begins the same way — with a conversation, a measurement, and a story worth building around.

The atelier

From the Caribbean to Savile Row, by way of my grandmother's table.

I was born into a family that produced generations of master tailors and seamstresses — a lineage running from the Caribbean to Savile Row. I apprenticed under my grandmother, a master seamstress, and learned the things that don't show on a label: patience, precision, and respect for the garment.

By sixteen I was taking custom orders for formal wear and performers in Boston and New York. That work has never really stopped. It has only grown into something larger — a practice where textile, image, and theatre are the materials, and the client's own story is the subject.

The process

How a piece comes to be.

Bespoke is a sequence, not a transaction. Each stage builds on the last, and nothing is cut before it's understood.
